THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is 40 days past the announcement of the 12th standard results and the certificates still remain a far-fetched dream. The delay is hindering students from selecting better options for higher studies. Students who eye an engineering seat or yearn for a course in foreign lands are dispirited, as hopes are slowly getting dashed with certificates still miles apart from finishing.

The 12 standard results came on May 25th. When enquired about the delay, the higher education exam cell hinted that it will take another one-month time before the certificate gets issued. Applying for courses in foreign countries, 12th-standard certificates are mandatory.

For ICSE, the 12th certificates are available in Digilocker. However, for state syllabus, only SSLC certificates are made available through Digilockers but not 12 standards. The authorities haven’t yet revealed the exact reasons for the delay. However, it wouldn't be a struggle for students to grab a seat inside Kerala since the mark list is available on the website. For students yearning a study in a foreign land, the wait is indeed tormenting.
