muslim-league

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan said that Muslim League is a democratic party of religious minorities. However, the question of CPM's attitude towards that party which is part of UDF is irrelevant, he said in a press conference.
They are standing with Congress. We can think about it only when they leave them. CPM has a distinct vision of political cooperation.

How can the LDF form an alliance or understanding with a party that is part of the UDF? Whenever the Muslim League has taken the right stand, it has been welcomed. It has happened in matters like the attitude towards the governor. That was not part of a political coalition.
We have had associations with Muslim League in the past. Didn't the EMS government form an alliance?

Now we have a tie-up with INL. We have cooperated with all the democratic parties of the minorities from time to time. Politics is formed in relation to the nation. Everyone has a stand on the issues the country is facing. We can go ahead only after checking if it is compatible with ours. CPM is a movement that is trying to build a Left Democratic Front on a national basis, Govindan said.

Coalition is needed: Sadiq Ali Thangal

KOZHIKODE: Muslim League State President Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said that a coalition should be formed against the Uniform Civil Code. CPM has said that it will organize protest programs to oppose the Uniform Civil Code. There is no need to participate in a protest decided by a party. When mentioned that CPM had invited Samastha, Sadiq Ali replied that anyone can invite anyone. He also said that the UDF meeting to be held on the 10th will discuss the protest plans.
