KOLLAM: Kerala police are up with a new find to track down people especially youngsters addicted to drugs, alcohol, and other banned substances. As part of the anti-drug drive, the new-gen Alco scan vehicle reached Kollam city yesterday. For seven days and more, the vehicle will be in Kollam city precincts tracking down drug addicts and alcohol users.

The Alco scan van is equipped with a high-technology lab that can easily find usage of synthetic drugs, marijuana, alcohol, and other three banned substances. Alco meter will be used to gauge the usage of alcohol within people while a saliva test helps find synthetic drugs or marijuana users in a canter. Specially trained police officers will function inside the Alco scan van. The test results will be obtained within five minutes after the check.

The Alco van scan will reach all districts in Kerala as part of the anti-drug drive.
