THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KPCC leadership will meet on Wednesday to deal politically with the cases against the KPCC President and the Opposition Leader and to deliberate on the agitation against the Uniform Civil Code. The leadership will also assess the progress of the party mandalam reorganization.

Congress is starting the agitation today in the cases against the leaders. There will be a discussion on how to deal with the cases. Organizational preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will also be discussed. Only the reorganization of block presidents was accomplished. The progress of the mandalam reorganization talks will also be accessed.

The Congress is taking up the Uniform Civil Code issue in the context of CPM Kozhikode having decided to hold an extensive seminar against the Uniform Civil Code. The Congress believes that the faith of the religious minorities in Malabar needs to be won to achieve a victory similar to the Lok Sabha elections last time. The party is convinced that intervention will be needed to prevent the CPM from gaining the upper hand in this regard.

KPCC President K Sudhakaran informed that the meeting on Wednesday will form a strong protest against the Uniform Civil Code, which was created by the BJP to divide the country communally.KPCC office bearers, MPs, MLAs, DCC Presidents, executive members, and Presidents of subsidiary bodies will participate in the meeting.

K. Sudhakaran clarified that the AICC and KPCC have a clear and strong stand against the Uniform Civil Code. In the report submitted by the Law Commission appointed by the Modi government in 2018, it was stated that there is no need to implement the Uniform Civil Code. Not even a draft bill was prepared. He also stated that it is a very serious issue that affects all sections and it needs a strong fight with everyone mobilized. He accused the CPM of inflaming sectarianism by portraying it as a problem of only one group and like the BJP, the CPM is also looking for political gains.
