ALAPPUZHA: All educational institutions in three districts will remain closed today. A holiday has been declared for all educational institutions in Ernakulam, Kasargod and Alappuzha. The government has informed that all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis will be closed as the orange alert is in place and the radar image after 5.30 am has warned of heavy rain in the coming hours. However, there will be no change in the pre-scheduled exams.
A NDRF team has been entrusted to strengthen disaster prevention and prevention activities in the event of orange alert.
Meantime, the government has issued instructions to those living in the danger zones to be cautious as the heavy rains are continuing widely in the state, as there is a possibility of sea storms on various coasts. People have been asked to relocate at necessary stages.
People who live in houses with weak roofs should be careful.
Trees, posts, boards etc posting threat to private and public areas should be secured and trees should be trimmed. Dangerous conditions should be brought to the attention of the authorities.
At stages of shifting to relief camps, one should be ready to fully comply with the Covid norms.
Officials informed that in the event of heavy rains, under no circumstances should one cross rivers, bathe in rivers or other bodies of water, fish or do other purposes.
