NEW DELHI: Pet dog dies after being locked in the car for hours. The tragic incident took place in Agra on Sunday. The owner, a native of Haryana, went to visit the Taj Mahal after locking up his pet dog inside his car. Footage captured by a passerby of the dog lying motionless inside the car went viral on social media.

After being informed about the incident by the parking manager at the Taj Mahal Gate, the police reached the spot and took action against the owner, Ajay Kumar. The police concluded that the dog may have died after the leash got stuck on its neck as it kept jumping to get out due to the heat inside the car.

The police informed that an FIR has been registered against Ajay Kumar and he has been taken into custody. The police also stated that the dog's body has been sent for post-mortem to find out the cause of death.
