THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the KPCC leadership meeting, there was sharp criticism on the reorganization of the block presidents and Hibi Eden's private bill in the Lok Sabha to shift the capital to Kochi. PC Vishnu Nath bluntly said that saying that everyone in the party should stand together when going through crises does not mean that anyone can take over the party.

The objections against the reorganization of block presidents were mainly raised by A group spokespersons such as KC Joseph, Benny Behanan and PC Vishnunath. T Saratchandra Prasad, B Babuprasad and others also raised criticism on behalf of the I group. KC Joseph alleged that 110 block presidents were decided, keeping everyone in the dark.

He also requested that there should be no unilateral approach in the matter of constituency presidents.

Ramesh Chennithala said that although there is a lot to be said on the organizational issue, we are not going there now. KPCC President K Sudhakaran mostly answered the details of the campaign program on the subject of the Uniform Civil Code.

Scheduled Tribes want 10 presidents

KPCC Working President Kodikunnil Suresh criticized that the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes were left without representation while appointing 282 block presidents. Schedules should be appointed in 10 blocks to solve the problem and the withdrawers for that should be considered to DCC. Kodikunnil also demanded that if at least one constituency president in a block is not from a Scheduled Tribe, the Scheduled leadership should not be accepted.

Hibi's position should be publicly rejected

Kodikunnil Suresh, Palode Ravi and T Saratchandra Prasad criticized the private bill seeking to shift the capital to Kochi by Hibi Eden in the Lok Sabha as being frivolous and without consultation. This led to resentment towards the party among the people of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. BJP and CPM are taking advantage of this. Kodikunnil demanded that the KPCC leadership should publicly declare that the capital shift is not a party position. It was explained in the meeting that Hibi said that he will go with what the party says. Hibi is abroad.
