THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people each died due to H1N1 and rat fever yesterday in Kerala where fever is spreading rapidly. Rat fever deaths were reported in Thrissur and Palakkad districts. H1N1 deaths were reported in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. Meanwhile, three people died yesterday with symptoms of rat fever. With this, the number of deaths due to fever increased to 24 in four days. 53,069 people were affected by fever in four days.

10,594 people were infected with fever yesterday. 56 people were diagnosed with dengue and 16 people with rat fever. 342 have symptoms of dengue fever and 11 have symptoms of rat fever. 54 people were diagnosed with chicken pox and 2 people with H1N1. Malappuram district recorded the highest number of people infected with fever yesterday-1712 people. Lowest in Idukki- 305 people. A control room has been set up to coordinate the activities under the health department and clear the doubts of the people and the health workers.
