KOZHIKODE: N Naufal was a confident goalkeeper who used to block the strong shots and penalty kicks of the opposing team. Naufal, who had been SBI's goalkeeper for many years, however, was not able to block the financial crisis that came into her life. His teammates and friends did not think that Naufal (38) would end his life after becoming a victim of financial fraud.
Naufal went missing on June 24. On June 30, while relatives, friends and the police were searching for him, an unidentified body was found at Puthiyappa Harbour, Kozhikode. Although the body was unrecognizable, relatives raised suspicions that it belonged to Naufal. After conducting a DNA test, it was confirmed that the body belonged to Naufal.
Although Naufal had asked his friends for money by stating that he had fallen victim to financial fraud, none of them knew that he was in such a crisis. The police are of the conclusion that Naufal, who had lost a huge amount of money through online games, was suffering from depression.
Naufal, who has been working with SBI for almost 9 years, is an Assistant Manager of the Mananchira Branch. Noufal, the goalkeeper of the SBI team, played twice in the Santosh Trophy tournament and for various clubs, including Viva Kerala.
After his disappearance, he had called his family from the watchman's phone at Puthiyappa Harbour. Naufal's bike was found near Kozhikode Lions Park. He is survived by his wife Rizwana, and children Adam Aayash and Ayisha Aleha.
