THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are lashing the state even today. Orange alert has been issued in six districts. Malappuram to Kasaragod and Idukki are under heavy rain warning. Yellow alert has also been announced in districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.

Rains are likely to intensify in northern districts. Apart from Wayanad, Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram, all educational institutions, including professional colleges, have been given a holiday today. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that the intensity of the rain is likely to decrease by tomorrow.
