THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain continues to lash the state even today. Orange alert has been announced in six districts. Malappuram to Kasaragod and Idukki are under heavy rain warning. Yellow alert has also been announced in the districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. According to the Central Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain is likely to decrease by tomorrow.
Following heavy rains, there were major damages in various districts. In some places, roads and houses were destroyed. Many areas are facing flood threat. Trees uprooted in many places. Around 350 houses are under flood threat in Wayanad.
Kannur
There was a landslide in Kannur. The landslide was near Paithalkund Waterfalls. The incident happened at 10 am this morning. As it is an uninhabited area, there was no major accident. However, agricultural fields were destroyed.
Wayanad
A road destroyed in Wayanad Vythiri Kolichal. A wall of a house collapsed in Kambalakadu. A bus stop was damaged after a tree uprooted in Arapara.
Malappuram
There is waterlogging in the heavy rain at Malappuram Valanchery Kattiparathy road. The life of around 150 families here will be miserable if the monsoon intensifies.
Thrissur
Ages old tree in the engineering college uprooted on Thrissur Ramavarmapuram Road.
Kottayam
A family stranded in Punnathura in Ayarkunnam panchayat, Kottayam, was rescued by the fire brigade using a rubber dinghy.
Alappuzha
More than 350 houses face flood threat.

Five fishermen ventured into the sea from Kozhikode Chaliyath got stranded in the sea. The boat is six nautical miles from Beypore.
