NEW DELHI: The supreme court has lost patience putting serious effort and wasting time considering the pile of petitions related to rogue elephant Arikomban. The court opened up about the menace while considering the petition filed by the Walking eye foundation for animal advocacy. Later the apex court gave a fine of Rs 25,000 to the walking eye foundation for wasting the court's time with mundane petitions. Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, Justice PM Narasimha, and Justice Manoj Mishra considered the case.
“ It is drudgery to consider Arikomban's case every week without any respite. Every two weeks, many petitions reached us about the elephant. Yesterday too the court rejected a petition that was related to the elephant. Why are all of you wasting time reaching the apex court when you can easily approach Kerala HC? “ SC asked.
Meanwhile, the advocate for the walking eye foundation said it was not just the concern of this foundation alone but lakhs of people are waiting to hear more about the whereabouts of the elephant. The court then made a repartee asking what is the need to find the location of an elephant that is deep inside the jungle. The advocate in no mind to fall for the redressal irked the court when he asked the milords to not be facetious when considering petitions that are filed under Article 32 of the constitution.
It was then the court decided to put a fine on the foundation.
