SYDNEY: The body of an Indian woman who was killed in Australia for rejecting love was found. The deceased is Jasmine Kaur (21), who was kidnapped by an Indian youth in June 2021. During the trial of the case, accused Tarikjot Singh had confessed to murdering Jasmeen. However, the police were not able to find Jasmeen's body.

Tarikjot Singh abducted and murdered Jasmeen, a nursing student, out of a grudge stemming from her rejection of his love proposal. He was arrested by the police after Jasmeen's disappearance. In February 2023, Tarikjot Singh revealed that he had killed Jasmeen during the trial based on available evidence. Although the accused confessed to the crime, the police were not able to find Jasmeen's dead body. Upon finding the body, it came to light that the murder was committed in an extremely brutal manner.

The accused abducted Jasmeen Kaur from her workplace in a car and killed her in an area called Flinders Range. The dead body was found tied up with cables and plastic tapes. The accused put Jasmeen in the pit and buried her alive. The post-mortem report says that the 21-year-old woman suffered extreme pain and swallowed soil. Meanwhile, Jasmeen's mother had earlier said that her daughter had told her that the accused had proposed to her and that he was suspected to be mentally ill.
