chandrayaan-3-sriharikota

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: India's awaited Chandrayaan-3's launch date has been pushed by a day to the 14th of July. Earlier the date was fixed at 13th. "The date (for soft-landing) is decided based on when there is sunrise on the Moon. While landing, sunlight must be there. There is sunlight on the Moon for 14-15 days and for the next 14-15 days there is no sunlight," said ISRO insiders.

The propulsion module, Rover, and lander module of Chandrayaan-3, (which are the core inclusion for the inter-planetary mission) have been shifted safely to Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan space centre. July 12-19 is considered the launching window. According to ISRO officials, the rocket should reach the moon during the day hours, or else it proves difficult to conduct studies and record happenings on the moon. On calculated terms, Chandrayaan-3 will reach the surface of the moon by July 24th.

After reaching the orbit of the moon, the lander module will attempt a soft landing splitting away from the mesh. Soon after, the rover will follow suit and mimic the same soft landing as the Lander module. The water presence on the moon, the geographic torsions, and the environment will be studied through the module used. The ISRO scientists will convene a meeting in the coming days to ensure the launch takes place in cent percent precision. US, Russia, and China are the only countries that successfully attempted lunar missions but none has reached the south pole.
