THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The rains will continue unfettered for another two days in the state. However, the intensity of the rainfall will abate with central Kerala and the north expected to receive only decent rains.
The cyclone in the Deep Bengal Sea has now moved towards the Andhra Pradesh coast. The monsoon also is moving from Kerala to Karnataka. On such calculations, IMD predicted lesser rainfall in the coming days in Kerala. However, rain is not done completely. In central Kerala, during night hours, rains are turning incessant with big winds accompanying them. Hilly terrains of Kerala are also getting decent rainfall during noon hours.
IMD has placed many districts on yellow alert while fishing activities received a strict 'NO' from authorities.
In the coming days, the rainfall may have less intensity but the disaster management is presaging huge landslides in different parts of Kerala. The sands in the hilly terrains of the state are still wet over the continued rains. With rains still happening, mudslide fear stays alive among natives.
In the last four days, Kerala received a surplus 310% rain this year. In place of 86.6 mm of rain, Kerala received 256.4 mm of rain this year. Kasargod received the most rain while Thiruvananthapuram got drenched lesser.
