BHOPAL: Two Dalit youths were brutally thrashed by a group of villagers in Madhya Pradesh. The youths were assaulted for allegedly behaving inappropriately towards Muslim girls in Shivpuri district. Following the allegation, the locals thrashed the youth and even forced them to eat dirt.

The incident took place on June 30. Eyewitnesses told police that the group blackened the faces of the two youths, garlanded them with shoes, and paraded them around the village. The police arrested seven persons of a family, including two women, in connection with the incident. The incident came to light after the visuals of the incident went viral on social media.

The accused told the police that the Dalit youths misbehaved with the girls and tried to record their video. However, the investigating officer said that the Dalit youths had only spoken over the phone with the girls and had not met them.
