THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Bheeman Raghu is all set to join the CPM. The actor, who worked for the BJP in the past, reached the AKG Bhavan today and met CPM state secretary MV Govindan.

Speaking to the media, Raghu said that he has decided to work with the CPM. Raghu reached the AKG Centre along with CPM district secretary and MLA V Joy. Raghu, who said that he had a meeting with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, lavished praises on the CM.

"I did not join the BJP to win. When a person joins the party, he should be brought to a position that could be beneficial for the people. No one in Kerala BJP has the ability to think that. That is why people like us are leaving the party. BJP is not giving anyone an opportunity to showcase one's skills. I faced great difficulty during the time of assembly elections in 2014. No party workers were present when I went to various places for the election campaign. Although I called Suresh Gopi several times to ask him to come to Pathanapuram for the election campaign, it was his PA who attended the calls. When Suresh Gopi finally attended the call, he said that he won't be able to come to Pathanapuram. His response pained me a lot," Bheeman Raghu said.

"Our CM is a man who fights against communalism. He is an uncorrupted leader with a vision for the state. Unlike other Chief Ministers, he has a unique ability to rule in many ways. I want to join the political party of such a Chief Minister. I have not thought about anything else. I want to go among the people and do whatever I can for the poor. These are the times when artists are getting a lot of opportunities and benefits through this party," he said.
