THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ex-principal TJ Shaiju and SFI leader Visakh did not get bail in Kattakkada Christian College Union election sabotage. The Kattakkada First Class Judicial Magistrate Court rejected the bail application of both. Both of them, who are currently in remand, will now have to approach the higher court to get bail.
High Court had earlier dismissed the bail pleas of Visakh and Shaiju in the controversial union election impersonation case. The High Court had observed that there was an attempt to sabotage the elections that was held democratically and that Shaiju had misused his position as principal. The court then asked the two accused to appear before the investigating officers on the 4th of this month. According to this, both of them surrendered at the Kattakkada police station on the 4th.
The case alleges that the name of AS Anagha, who won as university union councilor from Kattakkada Christian College, was changed and the name of SFI area secretary Visakh was included and the list was submitted to the university. Police registered a case on charges of forgery, breach of trust and impersonation.
