THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Gujarat HC decision on Rahul Gandhi is a setback, but the congress looks to avail better from this plight by introducing new plans in offing to help Rahul retain his haloed image in Wayanad.

Congress sees the Supreme Court as the final glimmer of hope. If the SC approves the Gujarat HC decision, Rahul will be restricted from contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress camp is ergo simmering in tension with all eyes keen on the SC decision.

If the SC decision goes against Rahul, the promotion tactics will go kaput. However, the congress believes the work will nonetheless help them garner enough Muslim votes from Wayanad than giving it away to CPM.

In 2019, congress swept 19 out of 20 seats in Kerala, and the impetus for the landslide win was the heroic introduction given to Rahul Gandhi in Kerala. His candidacy from Wayanad was celebrated and later the 'Rahul for PM' fever took all over Kerala helping Congress retain ground.

However now, CPM is also working ways to build new plans putting UCC as a mainspring to attract Muslim factions from northern sections of Kerala. Congress will strike back by placing Rahul as a victim of BJP’s totalitarian policies.
