CHENNAI: The railways are planning to give the train a new colour code. Reports said the Vande Bharat which is presently in white-blue colour will be changed to saffron and grey.

Although white and blue colours are beautiful, it is difficult to maintain as they get dirty easily. It is not easy to clean it thoroughly after each service. It is reported that new colours are being tested in this situation.

'A few colour combinations were tried and found the orange-grey combination suitable. The final decision has not been taken,' informed the integral coach factory (ICF). Both sides will be painted orange and the doors will be grey in colour.

Coloured a bogie as an experiment and its picture is circulating on social media. The new colour code will come into force after the approval of the railway ministry. Presently 26 Vande Bharat trains are operating service in the country.

There may be slight changes in the seat designs of the train. Also, the railways decided to replace the abbreviations of zonal railways with IR (Indian Railway) on the exterior of the coaches.
