KOCHI: KCBC president Cardinal Mar Baselios Clemis Katholika Bava asked Prime Minister Modi to drop silence over the massacre happening in Manipur. Cardinal Bava fears that the incidents in the northeastern state are a prelude to devious intentions of wiping out the Christian religion from India. Cardinal Bava was speaking at an event organized by MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan offering solidarity to the people of Manipur.

“ Are people getting killed in Manipur Indians or not? If they are Indians, the Indian PM should get involved in the issue. If anybody is thinking about wiping out Christianity from Indian soil, I feel sorry for them since it will only remain as a pipe dream.” the Cardinal opined.

Cardinal Clemis later showed his incense saying, "India’s diverse culture should not just reside in books but should be lived. He also apprehended the tactics played by prominent political parties to use religion as their trump card to reach power."
