THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MP K Muralidharan said it is CPM that is rolling the red carpet for BJP to garner clout in Kerala. The Congress leader accused CPM of playing vote bank politics and said the left party is PM Modi’s lethal weapon to reap votes in the south.

“ CPM is doing a herculean effort to split the Muslim league from Congress. The attempt is laced with vote-back policies intended to create a wedge within society. The UCC bill has not been tabled so jumping guns in such matters are unwarranted. Samastha is free to take their decision, but they should kindly retrospect the repercussions of teaming with CPM during CAA times.”

“Congress will decide on further actions after BJP tables the bill in parliament. CPM has no right to conduct seminars because till recently, they were ardent supporters of UCC. For Congress, UCC was always a bias and it was sternly opposed since the time of Nehru. CPM state secretary M V Govindan recently after a visit to England sparked controversy saying churches will go redundant. It was mostly aimed at creating a rift within Christian factions” Muralidharan said.
