IDUKKI: Months after translocation of rogue tusker Arikomban, Chinnakanal is once again in fear of wild elephants. The 301 colony of Chinnakanaal, which was the place of Arikomban, was attacked by a tusker. The attack took place at 7.30 pm on the house of Gnanajyothiammal in 301 Colony. The elephant destroyed the kitchen and the front side of the house. The residents of the house, Gnanjyoti Ammal and her daughter Sheela, were not at home at the time of the incident. Locals inform that the house was destroyed by Chakkakomban.
Despite the arrest and transloation of Arikomban, the presence of wild animals in the area has not changed. Last month, one person was injured in a Chakkakkobam attack. Kumar of Chinnakanal 301 Colony was injured in the attack.
Also, Chakkakomban was involved in a car accident on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi road.
