THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state will receive light rain till Thursday. After that, the monsoon winds will intensify and rains are likely to get stronger again, the Meteorological Department said. All the low-lying areas that were flooded are still under water.

Yesterday, Kasaragod and Malappuram districts received relatively little rain. As of June 1 till yesterday, there is a 28 percent lack of rainfall in the state.
228 camps have been opened in different districts. 10,462 people are staying there. Camps are not open in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad and Kannur districts. 51 people died in natural disasters. 60 houses were completely destroyed and 1384 houses were partially destroyed.
