THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Protests were staged against the ministers who visited Muthalapozhy in Thiruvananthapuram where a fisherman died after his boat overturned. Ministers V Sivankutty, Antony Raju and G R Anil left from there when there was an attempt to stop them. The locals raised their voices accusing them of delaying the rescue operations when the boat capsized. It is also alleged that Minister Antony Raju told the protestors not to show off. The ministers in a press release said Father Eugene Perera asked the locals to stop the ministers and that they had not obeyed him and had restrained themselves and thus a major clash was avoided.
Kunjumon, a native of Puthucurichy, died. A search is on to find the other three fishermen who were with Kunjumon. The accident happened around 4 am today.
