KANNUR: Passengers of the Vande Bharat Express are in distress after the train was halted due to an engine failure. The Vande Bharat train running on Kasaragod- Thiruvananthapuram route was stopped in Kannur. The train, which was supposed to leave at 3:30 pm, was held at the station for about an hour and a half when a technical failure was noticed. Although the train resumed its journey at five o'clock, it was stopped again after travelling a few meters.

The preliminary information is that the compressor failure is the cause of the problems. Even when it was time for the train to depart, it was first not possible to close the electric doors. Following that, the train's engine was shut off due to compressor failure. With this, the AC inside the train also stopped. As the doors were also closed, the passengers suffered from intense heat. The door of the train was opened after half an hour. Finally, the train started moving with the rear engine but stopped again after only 500 meters.
