BENGALURU: Eminent scientist and former ISRO chief Dr. K Kasturirangan suffered a mild heart attack today in Sri Lanka. Doctors after pondering over his health condition decided to airlift Kasturirangan to Bengaluru where he is now admitted to Narayana Health. He will be monitored by Dr. Devi Shetty.
At the same time, doctors said not to fear much about the scientist's health and said he was responding well to doctors and had surpassed the scare. The Karnataka government too extended all possible support to Kasturirangan while Deputy CM D K Shivakumar paid a visit to the hospital.
Dr. K Kasturirangan has been awarded the second, third, and fourth highest civilian awards - Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri - for his contributions to science and education
