THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case against Latin Archdiocese Vicar General Fr. Eugene Perera in the incident in which ministers were stopped in Muthalappozhi. The Anchuthengu police registered a suo moto case for stopping the ministers and inciting riots. Fr. Eugene Pereira is the only accused in the case. A case has also been registered against more than 50 identifiable people for blocking the road.
Minister V Sivankutty had alleged that Vicar General Fr Eugene Pereira was the one who asked the crowd to stop the ministers. However, Eugene Pereira said it was the ministers who shouted at him and the fishermen asking them not to show off. Ministers V Sivankutty, Antony Raju, and GR Anil reached Muthalappozhi when the protest was going on on the coast in connection with the death of fishermen in the accident.
