maharajan

Maharajan, who fought life thinking that he could pay off his liabilities with hard work, succumbed to death after falling into a well. Maharajan was the sole breadwinner of the house. Despite receiving a notice from the co-operative bank for confiscation of the house, Maharajan was the courage of his wife Selvi and children Sabitha and Babita.

Maharajan was hopeful and pacified his family saying that everything would be fine. Maharajan, who had gone to work as usual on Saturday met with an accident, but the family hoped that he would be alive. However, the family lost everything yesterday.

Maharajan, who came to Kerala from Tamil Nadu 22 years ago, settled here with his family. He bought seven cents of land at Nelliyarathala in Venganoor with all his savings. He built a house under the EMS housing scheme and took a loan. He sold two cents to repay his loan. He took a loan of Rs 2 lakh from Venganoor Service Cooperative Bank in 2016 when his liabilities rose. The confiscation proceedings started when the loan amount rose to Rs 3.37 lakhs including interest and penalty. Maharajan had erected a shed to stay till the new house was built. He did not demolish it even after the new house was constructed. He was laid to rest here. His wife and family are facing confiscation of the house, hope somebody to help the family, otherwise they would be on the roads.

Led a restless life
When we remember Maharajan, the locals and neighbours said that he worked hard and was always willing to do any work including work in the well. Will go for work even on Sundays. He worked and supported his family. He also wanted a good life for his children. However, he left unexpectedly, leaving debts and wishes behind.
