THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning in four districts of the state in the coming hours. It has been announced that light rain is possible at isolated places in Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. The met dept has informed that isolated heavy rain will continue in the state. Yellow alert has been declared in three districts-Idukki, Kannur and Kasaragod. The rain may get heavier from tomorrow.
Yellow alert is in place tomorrow in Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, day after tomorrow in Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts and on Friday in Idukki, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Chances of isolated heavy rains are predicted at these places.
At the same time, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services had issued a warning about the possibility of high waves and storm surge on the Kerala coast on Wednesday. . 0.8 to 1.2 meters high wave and storm surge is likely till 05.30 pm. The warning also states that the speed of the surf may vary between 15 cm and 40 cm per second, so fishermen and coastal residents should be cautious.
