MANALI: A Malayali student who took a Solo cycle ride to Kashmir got trapped in the floods of Himachal Pradesh. Kolanchery native Ananthu (17) was on his return from Kashmir through Manali when the landslide and severe rains came uninvited.

Ananthu started his solo ride on May 7th. Currently, he has found shelter inside a truck. The truck driver is generous and shares food from his bit. Most hotels in Manali have closed or are showing depleting stock of edibles. In small shops, biscuit packets are abundant but are slowly losing numbers. According to what natives say, the rain will end within two days' time. If so, Ananthu will travel in the truck to reach New Delhi and will seek a flight back home.

As of now, Ananthu is lodged in a safer abode. Nearby the place of his stay, landslides have been reported. Electricity is cut off but most hotels and caverns depend on solar charging. The riders are allowed to charge their phone often from such places. It helps Ananthu contact his home every two days.
