THODUPUZHA: It was yesterday that a student under treatment for stomach pain and vomiting died mysteriously in Kottayam medical college. And now, the police have taken a case after receiving a complaint from the youngster's family, pointing out the strangeness of the death.

Karimkunnam native Gowrishankar (19) was under treatment for the last 10 days at Kottayam medical college. He was initially under treatment in the district hospital in Thodupuzha before being shifted to Kottayam. According to locals and neighbors, Gowrishankar consumed a mysterious medicine recommended by a black magician in the area.

The police force headed by Karimkunnam CI Naufal completed the inquest procedures. Gowrishankar's body will be given to postmortem at Kottayam medical college today. The test results of his internal organs will confirm if the youngster consumed any special medicine or not. As of now, the police have dismissed any kind of mystery behind the death.

Gowri was a first-year student at Muttom polytechnic college.
