THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the start of the new financial year, BEVCO has made gains in liquor sales and revenue. An increase of 2.4 percent over last year in the number of cases sold from April 1 to July 10. India-made foreign liquor sold during this period last year increased to 61.33 lakh cases from 59.87 lakh cases. A revenue of Rs 5145.36 crores was generated in the same period last year. This is Rs 5317.26 crore this time.

Despite the overall increase in sales, it has been found that the daily liquor sales in some retail outlets are less than five lakhs in the last few days. Bevco Assistant General Manager (Operations) has sent a circular to the warehouse managers concerned suggesting to increase sales at these locations. Thodupuzha, Kottarakkara, Battathur, Perumbavoor, Kadawantra, Kottayam, Aluva, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, Tripunithura, Chalakudy, Ayarkunnam, Nedumangad, Thiruvalla and Aluva warehouse managers are advised to increase sales.
