KOZHIKODE: The Human Rights Commission has ordered an inquiry against Koyilandi SI in connection with the incident of arresting the MSF workers who protested against the insufficient number of Plus One seats in Malabar. The investigation was ordered on the complaint that advocate TT Mohammad Afrin Noohman and LLB entrance exam contestant Fasweeh Muhammad were humiliated by the SI in public by handcuffing them. K Baijunath, acting chairperson and judicial member of the commission ordered that the Kozhikode district police chief conduct an investigation and submit a report within 15 days. The case will be considered at the sitting in Kozhikode in August.
The incident took place on June 25 at noon. Even though Fasweeh Muhammad told the policeman that he was visually impaired, he dragged them into a jeep and took them to Koyilandi station and handcuffed them. Fasweeh felt light headed but was denied treatment. They were taken along the road in handcuffs like criminals. According to the complaint, the handcuffs were put on by SI Anish.
