THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Major fund fraud controversy in CPM as former committee member accuses district committee member of fund fraud. A former area committee member of CPM has filed a complaint against a Thiruvananthapuram district committee member to the district committee and the state committee, alleging that he had defrauded court bail amount.

According to the complaint, eight lakh rupees were collected to bail out those involved in a case related to a strike. As the case was dismissed, this amount was returned. However, the complainant alleged that this amount was not returned to the party. The new controversy comes after the allegation of embezzling Martyrs' Fund. The allegation of fund embezzlement was made in the Chala Area Committee.

Eight CPM workers were arrested during the protest at the Deputy Director of Education office. Eight lakh rupees were collected by ten local committees to bail them out. After the case was withdrawn a year ago, the amount reached the accused's account. One lakh rupees each reached the account of each person. The members also handed over the money to the area leaders. The leaders were not ready to transfer this amount to the party account or present it to the expenditure committees. The complaint also demands action against those who stole the money.
