THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran said that the party will discuss the high-speed rail project from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur put forward by E Sreedharan. Surendran was speaking to the media after visiting Metroman E Sreedharan at his residence.

"The development of the state is paramount. The state government should try to make it a reality. E Sreedharan proposed a rail system that would move at high speed without taking up too much land, without bothering the common people, and without damaging the environment. It is a project that Kerala needs instead of the SilverLine which is unenforceable and causes financial losses. Kerala's landscape should not be destroyed in the name of development," Surendran said.

"Common people should not be bothered. E Sreedharan was also there last time to meet the Railway Minister. Sreedharan has given a clear answer to those who came to see him on behalf of the state government," he said.

E Sreedharan said that he will stand with the development of Kerala and that the high-speed rail is not like the SilverLine.
