PALAKKAD: Woman driver met a tragic end after a wild boar hit her autorickshaw. Vijisha Sonia (37) wife of Manoj of Kizhakkencherry Vakkala Alampallam house is the one who died. Three students in the auto were injured. Odamthode Abhilash's children Amaya Abhilash (12), Anay Abhilash (9) and Karinkayam Anish's son Tomilin (13) were injured. Anish's other son Yuvan (4) escaped unhurt.

The accident happened in front of St. Mary's Church near Mangalam Dam Karinkayam Forest Station at 7:40 yesterday morning. A wild boar hit the auto which came towards the dam with the students. Vijisha fell from the overturned auto. She was immediately taken to private hospitals in Mangalam Dam and then Nenmara but died. The children's injuries were not serious as they did not fall out of the auto. They were admitted to a private hospital in Mangalam Dam.

The accident happened when the children were picked up in the auto from Anish's house and passed 50 meters. Aneesh and nearby residents were the ones who took the injured to the hospital. Vijisha's body was cremated in the home compound after post-mortem at Palakkad District Hospital. The postmortem report stated that the cause of death was a fractured rib that entered the lung. Vijisha is the daughter of Vijayan (late)and Rugmani from Nelliampadam, Vadakancheri. Children: Ashok and Akash.
