KOLLAM: The ambulance driver in Minister’s pilot vehicle accident case has alleged that the blame is being unfairly shifted onto him. The accident occurred between Minister V Sivankutty's pilot vehicle and the ambulance. The driver revealed that he was subjected to ridicule by the police, who asked if he was driving a soapbox instead of a vehicle. He was questioned about why he had crossed paths with the minister's vehicle.
As the ambulance driver, Nithin was hospitalized, his brother Santhosh took the initiative to file a complaint. Ashwakumar, the husband of the patient who was in the ambulance at the time of the accident also came forward to support the claim. According to him, the pilot vehicle was responsible for the collision. The ambulance had followed the traffic signal. The Minister allegedly did not acknowledge the accident, stated Ashwakumar.
The incident occurred yesterday at Pulamon, Kottarakkara around 1 pm. Five individuals, including the patient, sustained injuries in the accident. The impact of the collision caused the ambulance to overturn. The ambulance was en route from Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, while the pilot vehicle approached from the Kottayam side.
