PATNA: It was raining ruckus in Bihar as BJP moved towards the assembly in protest against the government, which was treated with lathis by police. The chaos ended in the most pitiable tone as one BJP leader Vijay Kumar Singh died in the melee. Singh was badly injured in the police lathi charge and was rushed to Patna medical college but death happened.

The BJP conducted a march today against the government for not providing sufficient grants to clear the salaries of teachers in unaided colleges. The protest also saw the participation of a large number of teachers from the state.

The slain BJP leader was from the Jehanabad region. The party has announced Rs 10 lakhs for the family of Vijay Kumar Singh. More than a dozen BJP leaders were injured in the Lathi charge which is quite unprecedented taking Bihar’s recent political happenings.

According to reports, the BJP leader had no external injuries but was found lying unconscious on the road. Meanwhile, opposition leader Vijay Kumar Sinha said the police officers and the leaders culpable for Singh’s death will be brought to book once the government changes in Bihar.
