THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress has opposed Metroman E Sreedharan's alternative proposal to implement the SilverLine project. KC Venugopal alleged that the new move to implement the project is a BJP-CPM deal. Venugopal also said that KV Thomas is the bridge of the unholy relationship between Modi and Pinarayi.
With the BJP also supporting Sreedharan's proposals, the state government is preparing to move ahead with the implementation of the project. After KV Thomas, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will also hold a meeting with E Sreedharan. K-Rail representatives will also participate in the discussion.
E Sreedharan's alternative report says that the current K-Rail project is impractical. According to the report, DPR will have to be changed. Tunnel and elevated rail lines are other alternatives. This will greatly reduce the project cost.
