KALPETTA: The sports teacher arrested in connection with the Meppadi school POCSO case has been suspended from service by the public education department of Kerala. Puthuvayal native Jhonny ( 50) has been suspended from service after girl students from the school came in dozens to the police station to complain about their faculty's sexual demeanors. After taking the case into consideration the district deputy director suspended Jhonny from service. Education Minister V Sivankutty also intruded in the case for the publicity it received.
The girl students of Meppadi reached the police station in mass yesterday with serious complaints against their faculty. The police registered the case but saw more students reaching the station with complaints against the same teacher. The officers thus decided to hurry the investigation. The school will arrange a counseling session for the students, since the scare of inappropriate touch which the officials think will easily disrupt the academic progress of students.
Minister V Sivankutty lauded the cojones shown by girls to approach the police station to complain. Jhonny is currently placed in remand.
