THRISSUR: The carcass of a wild elephant was found buried in a rubber plantation. The carcass was found in the plantation owned by Chelakkara native Roy. Authorities are suspecting that the elephant was killed and buried.
Officers of the Forest and Wildlife Department reached the spot after obtaining secret information. The carcass was found in a search conducted using a JCB. As per the preliminary conclusion, the skeleton of the elephant is more than two months old.
Officials said they will check whether any chemical substance was added to the body to cause it to decompose so quickly. Police have taken Roy into custody. It is indicated that more people are involved in the incident.
