JERUSALEM: The doctors performed a complicated surgery on a 12-year-old boy by reattaching his head to his neck after hit by a car while riding a bicycle. The surgery was performed by the doctors from Israel. Suleiman Hassan was seriously injured after a car hit him while he was riding a cycle. His skull was detached from the top vertebrate of his spine.

The boy was airlifted to Hadassah Medical Centre and an emergency surgery was performed. The doctors said his head was almost completely separated from the base of his neck. Dr Ohad Einav, the orthopaedic surgeon who led the operation, said that after several hours of the surgery, new plates were attached to the damaged area. He also stated that the latest technologies in the operation room helped a lot in saving the boy’s life. The doctor said that there was only a fifty percent chance of Suleiman coming back to life.

Although his treatment completed last month, this was not disclosed until July. The boy discharged from the hospital is with a cervical splint and the doctors will continue to monitor his recovery.
