NEW DELHI: The recent overflow of the Yamuna River in New Delhi has caused distress for both humans and animals. The Disaster Management Force has been actively engaged in rescue operations across the city. The story of a bull from the Pritam group in Noida has captured attention amidst these struggles. Valued at over one crore rupees, the bull became part of the news. Videos and pictures of the bull's rescue have quickly gone viral on social media. The National Disaster Response Force, successfully saved this bull adding to their efforts.

Approximately 550 hectares of land along the riverbanks were submerged due to the overflow of Yamuna. To ensure people’s safety, around 5,000 people have been relocated. Approximately 6,000 domestic animals including cattle and dogs have been moved to safer locations since Thursday.

At present the water level in the Yamuna River stands at 207.68 meters exceeding the figures of the past 45 years. The water level remains two meters above the danger mark. Key areas of the city including ITO and Rajghat are currently underwater. The government has sought the assistance of the army in dealing with the situation. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that all five gates of the Yamuna barrage are being opened and measures are being taken to release water. The first jam gate of the ITO barrage has already been opened with plans to open all five gates in the near future.
