KOLLAM: Woman was arrested after coming to work as an LD clerk at the Karunagappally taluk office with a fake advice memo and appointment order of PSC. R Rakhi (25), a native of Valathungal, was arrested by East Police.

Rakhi arrived with her husband and family members around 10 am today. While checking the documents, the Tehsildar got suspicious and contacted the PSC office, and the reply was that no appointment order had been issued. It was suggested to inquire at the PSC office after that. She came claiming that she was ranked 22nd in the LD Clerk list released on August 1, 2022 and that she had received an appointment order in the Revenue Department. The Tehsildar lodged a complaint with the District Collector and the Karunagappally Police.

Rakhi and her family reached the PSC office in Andamukkam in the afternoon and showed the documents on mobile phone. They were not willing to show the original. In the original rank list, the 22nd rank was held by a person named Amal. Rakhi's name was falsely added to this position. Officials clarified that the number in the advice memo is not related to PSC and the post mentioned in the appointment order is not of the revenue department but of the Panchayat LD Clerk post. In the order, the appointing authority is mentioned as District Revenue Department Officer but there is no such post in the Revenue Department. The District Collector is the appointing authority.

Meanwhile, Rakhi and her family phoned the media and the East Police. East police arrived and took Rakhi and her husband into custody. Police said that the documents were fake and Rakhi confessed to the crime during interrogation. The arrest was made under the leadership of Control Room CI Biju and East SI VJ Dipin. Rakhi will be produced in court today. Her husband was released after questioning.

Falsification in the Secretariat rank list also

The police found fake documents of the secretariat assistant rank list also from Rakhi's phone. The forged document was created through the mobile app and sent to her own address. The initial information is that others have no role in this.
