THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC CMD Biju Prabhakar on Saturday asked the Chief Secretary to remove him from the post of KSRTC MD. He also asked the Chief Secretary to appoint a separate MD for KSRTC. A decision in this regard will be taken after hearing the case in the High Court on the 20th of this month. He approached the government demanding his removal from the post of MD after the workers marched to his house to protest against the delay in salary.
Biju Prabhakar decided to resign from the position of CMD after the government backed away from the projects announced for the modernization of the organization and increase in income and even denied the promised financial assistance. The opposition and missteps of the service unions and the machinations of the private bus lobby also fuelled his decision to step down as CMD.
Transport Minister Antony Raju said that he came to know about the CMD's resignation through the media. CMD has not spoken a word about this. The minister also stated that the crisis will be resolved only if the money announced by the government is paid correctly.
