NEW DELHI: Allahabad High Court Judge Dinesh Kumar Singh has been transferred to the Kerala High Court.

The central government issued the order after the Supreme Court collegium rejected his demand to reconsider his transfer to Kerala.

A petition was submitted by the judge to collegium for transfer to any one of the High Courts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Delhi High Court Judge Gaurang Kant has been transferred to Calcutta High Court. The bar association had passed a resolution not to transfer him. The order came after the collegium rejected it. The reason for the protest is the shortage of judges.

The High Court has four permanent judges

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the central government to appoint additional justices Basant Balaji, C Jayachandran, Sophie Thomas and PG Ajith Kumar as permanent judges of the Kerala High Court. A three-member collegium chaired by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud accepted the recommendation given by the Kerala High Court on March 17.
