The police found that the death of Vinod, a resident of Kalavarakkunnu in Varandarappilly, is a murder. They found that his wife Nisha (43) had committed it. The incident related to the case happened on the night of July 11. Vinod murdered is a daily wage labourer. Nisha is an employee of a private hospital in Thrissur town.
The police said Vinod, who was suspicious of Nisha's phone calls, used to quarrel with her regularly over this. Vinod, who came home from work in the evening, found his wife engrossed in a phone call and then tried to grab the phone from her, on the day of the incident. When Nisha refused to give him the phone, the two got into a fight. Meanwhile, Vinod caught her hand and turned it back. In a fit of rage, she took the curry knife and stabbed him. When Vinod started bleeding, Nisha got scared and tried to press his wound. With this, there was internal bleeding and he collapsed immediately. Meanwhile, Vinod’s mother, who is staying nearby came home and as she did not find anything unnatural, left from there.
She later took him to the hospital as his bleeding did not stop. However, he died while undergoing treatment. Nisha told police that something pierced his chest during a fight between them. A case of unnatural death was registered when the police got the post-mortem report. When inquired neighbours, it became clear that there were regular fights between the two.
When the police questioned her in detail after the cremation, Nisha tried to hold on to what she had said initially, but was unsuccessful. When she was brought for collecting evidence, she explained how she stabbed him. The knife kept cleaned to destroy evidence and his blood-stained clothes were found. She had tried to burn his clothes. Nisha will be produced in the court after completing the procedures.
