PATHANAMTHITTA: Six people have been taken into custody for gang-raping a minor girl in Adoor. The police have taken her lover and his five friends for sexually abusing the 17-year-old student.

The police registered the case in the first week of July based on the report of the child welfare committee. She was subjected for a medical examination and a detailed statement was registered and then an investigation started.

When a case was registered, the accused including the girl’s lover fled from their hometown. Some were nabbed on Saturday and the others early Sunday morning. The police said that two were nabbed Sunday early morning from Alappuzha.

The police are questioning the accused in custody. Their arrest will be registered by this evening.

The girl said that her lover sexually abused her first. Then he handed over her mobile number to his friends. He then introduced her to them. He then forced her to maintain a cordial relationship with his friends. They later gang-raped her.
