CHALAKUDY: Police raided a house near Pariyaram and busted the arrack brewing running behind the veneer of the milk business. The police meanwhile destroyed 200 liters of 'wash' which was used for the fermentation process and also recovered 5.5 liters of arrack from Kammalam native Antony(42). SHO K S Sandeep initiated the raid which busted the illegal business.

Antony’s business plans were meticulous in all aspects. He took a house for rent near his residence and dedicated all his time here to brewing arrack. Antony did business with locals and neighbors by covertly placing the bottle of arrack amidst milk bottles to evade any suspicion. He has admitted the crime to the police.

The police conducted the raid after receiving information from one local regarding the furtive business running with impunity.
